Abraxas Applications is a risk mitigation technology and services company. They design, build and deploy counterterrorism technologies and services for the protection of critical infrastructure and personnel. Abraxas engaged Limina to help them better understand the needs of their target users and to improve the workflow, UI design and analysis capabilities of their risk mitigation product. Key user experience improvements included identifying new UI requirements, defining a new interaction model for the application, conducting user research and validating new design concepts, improving workflow, defining clear and differentiated user personas and helping the engineering team envision and design a new data entry and geo-spacial analysis tool.

Limina worked with the BD Biosciences division of Becton Dickinson for two years. Our UI design services contract with this leading immunocytometry systems provider spans both existing and next generation instrumentation and analysis software. More specifically, we worked on acquisition, analysis and reporting workflow optimization. Limina was brought in to help a senior-level executive team define a user experience strategy and build a prototype demonstrating a new vision for their internal business management systems. The goal was to define a unified system which would serve as a touch-point for all employees. Key aspects of this engagement included defining a new concept based on integrated simplicity which shifted the system design from a technology and business process approach toward a user goal-oriented, workspaces approach (e.g., I have problem X, here is where I go to solve it). We created a consistent user experience for their enterprise framework that hosts global business management systems including intranet, KM, HR, CRM, and ERP systems, and we created a strategy for integrating social web technologies to enhance productivity, knowledge management, and build their community.

CV Certify is an early-stage venture firm preparing to deliver an exciting beta product for staffing firm customers. Their patented ProofSheet™ product allows recruiters to more efficiently find superior candidates while saving up to 40 percent of recruiting costs. Their team includes veterans of successful startups like Clearspring and Inphonic as well as consulting firms Deloitte and McKinsey.

Limina was engaged to help CVCertify identify the requirements for their product concept through detailed use cases and workflows. After the requirements had been identified, Limina created wireframes and graphical mockups to visually represent the system and all key workflows. Limina continues to work with the development team as the product moves through the coding process.

Discuss RH is an online community which provides a trusted environment for a worldwide network of reproductive healthcare professionals, researchers, activists, and policy makers where contribution, collaboration, and discovery of quantitative and qualitative knowledge is possible, 24/7.

Limina worked with the Discuss RH team to refresh their brand identity and design a new look and feel for their website. Key aspects of this engagement included taking out of the box drupal modules and customizing their user experience to seamlessly integrate with the website content in ways that were meaningful and useful to the community.

Enpresence is a start-up web service that utilizes leading edge mobile networking technology to facilitate introductions, both social and professional. Limina was engaged to refine the user experience including branding, visual design, and interactive design on the corporate website and mobile applications.

Invincea is a venture-backed software company that is bringing strong and innovative desktop security to companies with Invincea Browser Protection. Invincea is the first and only fully-virtualized browser solution that seamlessly runs your browser in its own virtual environment separate from the desktop operating system to protect users against all types of Web-borne threats. Invincea (formerly Secure Command) was founded by Dr. Anup Ghosh in 2006 and funded by DARPA to build a prototype virtualized Web browsing solution. The DARPA-funded and patent-pending technology developed jointly with George Mason University's Center for Secure Information Systems has been commercialized under Invincea and is now available to companies to provide the strongest protection against Web-borne threats.

Limina was tasked to take the product out of beta for a bold market release. Our expert UI evaluation provided a roadmap for custom UI design enhancements to deliver both ease of use and visual impact.

In full collaboration with our Drupal development partner, Promet Source, Limina provided Strategic Design Direction, Technical Architecture, Product & Engineering Management – to meet the business, functional and user requirements for this innovative new service.

Pong™ Research Corporation ("Pong") is a global leader providing FCC-certified solutions that protect users of cellular telephones and other wireless devices from the potentially harmful effects of radiation exposure. Founded by an international team of scientists with unique expertise in the field of plasma physics, environmental science, electrical engineering, antenna design, and health sciences, Pong has created the world's only device proven to dramatically reduce electromagnetic radiation ("EMR") exposure while protecting phone performance.

Limina was asked to provide creative design and technical support for the redesign of www.pongresearch.com. Pong was seeking a new creative direction and wanted to enhance their content marketing pages. Simultaneously, we worked to increase their multi-lingual and ecommerce capabilities using WordPress and Amazon Webstore.

QuantumMark LLC is a management consulting services firm based in Reno, Nevada. Their mission to ensure the successful implementation of public health initiatives and their focus on public health management has provided invaluable assistance to public health agencies in their development of web based vital record keeping systems, newborn screening systems, immunization registries, and cancer registries.

Limina was asked to compete on this project and came up with the winning bid. Quantum Mark needed two usability tests run on a product that had been created through an SBIR which provided important diagnostic capabilities for the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Limina conducted both usability tests remotely using a desktop sharing software and produced a comprehensive report identifying issues and associated recommendations. Quantum Mark was very pleased with the outcome and used our report to prioritize the development efforts moving forward.

Limina was brought in to help RedSeal identify UI requirements and adjust their product's user interface to meet the requirements of a new market segment. We worked with the Redseal team to design a dashboard view for new users and redesigned the products report creation workflow and report templates. Limina also provided product look and feel, information design, and data visualization improvements.

Limina worked with Roche engineering teams on more than 9 different software applications. The application types we worked on include, federate search, knowledge management, social/community building portals, drug discovery, research, and analysis and study management. Key aspects of the work performed included, complex data display, workflow improvement, information design, data visualization improvements, and implementation of UI standards.

Limina was engaged to produce three thematic UI design template sets and associated iconography for the launch of a new Salesforce product called Salesforce IdeaExchange.

Limina was brought in to help with these goals and to conduct a comprehensive user experience evaluation, results analysis and technical documentation. This work expanded to include follow-on recommendations and envisioning documentation for the new SBA.gov.

Swift Communications is a regional news publication and distribution conglomerate.

Limina helped Swift develop a new online user experience strategy, conducted user research and brought their new vision to life through an enhanced UI design for their 40+ newspapers. Limina also provided Swift with an updated look and feel for their corporate website.
